Issue

Since this morning I have a problem with Windows Media Player. I wanted to listen to MP3s and watching videos but cannot open WMP!

It gives me no error message, just when I click on the icon, nothing happens .. No hourglass either ... and now, the software do not open.

I recently did an update of Windows that can come of this?

On the other hand, I opened for the first time the software Windows Movie Player (to change the videos), I do not know if that's what caused this problem?

In any case, I'm clicking on the icon, it's as if I had done nothing and if someone could help me, it would be great.

Solution

I had exactly the same problem, there's a solution!

To solve this:

Click on Start > Run

Type these two commands:

regsvr32 jscript.dll regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Press Enter to finish

Now you will be able to open Windows Media Player!
